ClimbingGear.com Proudly Sponsors Triple Crown Southeastern Bouldering Series

RockCreek.com is proud to announce the 2005 Triple Crown Southeastern Bouldering Series. This has been a popular competition for several years and takes place on three separate weekends: Houndears, outside Boone, NC, will host the first stage on October 1, 2005; Horse Pens 40 between Birmingham and Gadsden, AL will host the second comp on November 5, 2005; the final comp will be held at Little Rock City outside Chattanooga, TN on December 3, 2005.
RockCreek.com has been a proud sponsor of the Triple Crown for several years and looks forward to helping making this the best competition yet. This year RockCreek.com has teamed up with Chaco Sandals to make a unique Chaco design available to Triple Crown climbers. These performance sandals will have a unique strap pattern designed specifically for this event, and will feature the new Stealth diamond rubber soles not available to the general public until 2006! The proceeds from the sale of these custom-designed Chacos will help the Southeastern Climbers' Coalition in their efforts to save the Rumbling Bald climbing area.
As Kirk Brode of the SCC says on their Web page: "Rumbling Bald was recently on the Access âchopping block,â but through the efforts of the hardworking Carolina Climbersâ Coalition, the state of North Carolina is set to purchase land in and around âThe Baldâ and preserve the site as a State Park (this means permanent climbing access!!). Itâs no secret, though, that the land there is very valuable and the state will need the help of the climbing community to close the deal."
